Founded by Thistle Pettersen in 2014, MWMAF provides a place for the community to celebrate the artistic work of local women. The event is currently sponsored by Make Music Madison, a one-day, city-wide, free music festival held each year on the Summer Solstice (June 21st).

The annual event is free to attend, with proceeds from art, beer, and merchandise going towards the Demeter Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping women incarcerated or previously incarcerated regain stability in their lives. We recommend a donation of $5 to support this wonderful non-profit.

MWMAF welcomes anyone who would like to join us in celebrating the original art and music of women in our community.
